Washington Capitals Clinched Playoff Spot

So the Washington Capitals claimed a playoff spot by defeading the Detroit Red Wings 2-1. Here are the reasons why they earned the playoff spot.

So by having new coach Barry Trotz on there team, Washington has been really good this season. Espicially Alex Ovechkin who was -32 last year and is now +11. Also there was Braden Holtby who got better, and they had help from Nicklas Backstrom and John Carlson. Thanks to Barry Trotz the Caps are going to the Playoffs this year, and there going to be a hard team to play against.

The Washington Capitals will most likely play against the New York Islanders in the first round of the Playoffs. It will be hard to play against John Tavares, Kyle Okposo, Jaroslav Halak and more. The Islanders had a great season but they are strugeling a bit, but they will make the playoffs.
