So the New York Islanders claimed a playoff spot this week. Detroit Red Wings claimed there playoff spot by having at least one point against Montreal in overtime. Galgary Flames claimed a playoff spot by defeating the Los Angeles Kings 3-1 and the Winnipeg Jets earned a playoff spot by getting at least one point against Colorado in a Shoutout. Here are the reasons why they made the Playoffs.

The New York Islanders had a great season with the help of there new defensemen Johnny Boychuk and Nick Leddy, and they also got a number one goalie Jaroslav Halak. Tavares and the Islanders had an incridable season this year even without Kyle Okposo and they still won there games. Jack Capuano could be a Jack-Adams contender this year.

Detroit Red Wings had a crazy season this year people didn't know if they were going to make the playoffs this year, but they did again for 24 years in a row. With the help of there veterans and there young guns they did it. Mike Babcock helped the team alot this year. If they were in the Western Conference, Detroit wouldn't go to the playoff for sure.

Calgary Flames had a suprising season this year with the help of Bob Hartley and there players like Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan, Jiri Hudler, Mark Giordano and many more. They got a number one goalie this year and it was Jonas Hiller. He split half of the season with Karri Ramo. Bob Hartley is the main reason why they are in the playoffs.

Winnipeg Jets made for the first time in history the playoffs. They got help from there new coach and from there great team. With Evender Kane and Zach Bogosian traded, they got Tyler Myers and Drew Stafford back and they helped them alot. Blake Wheeler, Andrew Ladd, Dustin Byfuglien, Bryan Little and more helped them. Both goalies Ondrej Pavelec and Michael Hutchinson had there best season in the carrer. Ondrej Pavelec helped them till the end and they got that playoff spot.

New York Islanders will probably face the Washington Capitals for sure, which are going to be hard to beat. Be ready for Ovechkin vs Tavares and Holtby vs Halak.
Detroit will probably face the Tampa Bay Lightning which will be a big challenge for them this year, because Tampa Bay has one of the best trios in the league.
Calgary will probably face Vancouver which will be a great series between those 2 teams.
Winnipeg will probably face Anaheim which will be pretty intresting and good series between those 2 teams.
Thanks for reading and have a great day :)
