So yesterday, they announced the finalists for the Norris Trophy for best defensemen of the year.

The finalist are Drew Doughty from The Los Angeles Kings, Erik Karlsson from The Ottawa Senators and P.K. Subban from the Montreal Canadiens. Here are the reasons why they got nominated.

Drew Doughty

The Kings didn't make the playoffs this year and thats weird. They had a bad season this year but Drew Doughty was there and helped them alot for the team's sucess. With 46 points, he had a good season this year he was always in the game and was used alot in each game he played and he deserved to be nominated for the Norris Trophy.

Erik Karlsson

With Ottawa's comeback to the playoffs, Erik Karlsson was one the best players in the team. He was named Captain this year because Jason Spezza left to Dallas, and he was great. With 66 points, he helped the team to go to the playoffs and he could win the Norris he could this year. He was good in the playoffs even if they lost the first round to Montreal they had a really amazing and surprising year.

P.K. Subban

He had a great year with Montreal, people were complaining about his contract because he was payed way to much and he wasn't playing that well at the start of the season and P.K. Subban shut everyones mouth by having a season of 60 points this year and being one the finalist for the Norris trophy. He is great in the season and the series and he won the Norris 2 years before and he is still playing great hockey with the Montreal Canadiens and he deserved the Norris.

Here are some honnorable mentions:

Brent Burns

Dennis Wideman

Roman Josi

John Carlson
